Adult Education Services

If you struggle with a addiction, you may have found yourself disconnected from educational and work opportunities. You may have started using as a teenager, dropped out of school and are in need of getting a GED. Maybe you do have a diploma, but are interested in furthering your education at a local community college? Perhaps you are more interested in working in an industrial setting, and could benefit from brushing up on your basic math skills to improve your job performance or to pass the entrance exam to get a higher paying position.

Crossing Healthcare provides educational and career readiness programming for outpatients in our drug and alcohol treatment facility. For those seeking a GED or math skill development, individual tutoring is available. This allows each student high-quality one-on-one attention and the flexibility to work at their own pace.

In addition to the GED and math skill development, the Crossing Healthcare provides essential life skill classes; such as, financial literacy, keyboarding, and computer training. The educational and vocational program is designed to foster self-sufficiency and increase the likelihood of long-term sobriety. The skills gained will help you maintain employment and meet your financial and personal goals.

Workforce Investment Solutions

Crossing Healthcare has partnered with Workforce Investment Solutions (WIS), a federally and state funded community resource that provides job seekers training and support. Once enrolled with Workforce Investment Solutions, outpatients will have opportunities to gain work experience through internships on or off Crossing campus, get on-the-job training at local businesses, or enroll in classes or trainings for free.

If eligible, you would have access to a variety of services through WIS to support you in obtaining and maintaining employment that may include:

  • A paid short-term work experience to assess work skills and behaviors
  • On-the-job training that may lead to employment
  • Job search assistance
  • Funding assistance with work uniforms, and other items essential to your success on the job
  • Enrollment in a training/educational program
  • Funding assistance with tuition, books, and other fees associated with training/education programs
  • Career planning services to guide you through this process and to help promote positive outcomes that lead to long-term employment
